Ms. Milanovich is the President of UPMC/Jefferson Regional Home Health, LP. Ms. Milanovich welcomed participants to the 2010 Long Term Care Symposium which has been sponsored by the home health organization for the past six years.

 

  Nancy Donovan, MSN, RN
UPMC/Jefferson Regional Home Health, LP

Ms. Donovan is a Cardio-Pulmonary Specialty Clinician for UPMC/Jefferson Regional Home Health, LP. Ms. Donovan was also an Instructor, Clinical Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Nursing. Ms Donovan addressed the topic of eating disorders and identifying risk factors, prognosis and treatment.

 

  Marian Kemp, RN
Highmark

Ms. Kemp has been working in managed care with Highmark for the past 12 years. Most recently as Highmark’s Senior Markets Project Manager, she has been leading projects that are focused on improving care and services for the older adult. Ms. Kemp shared her significant experience by speaking on the topic of POLST at this year’s symposium

 

  Kurt Emmerling, M.Ed, NCC, LPC
Allegheny County Agency on Aging

Mr. Emmerling is the Bureau Chief of Advocacy Protection and Care Management for the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging. Mr. Emmerling discussed Compassion Fatigue, an important topic for today’s health care professionals. Compassion Fatigue, also known as secondary trauma and burn out, occurs when human services professionals are exposed to the stress and emotional pain of consumers, residents, staff and families.

 

  Michael Celender, BS, MS
UPMC Consultant

Mr. Celender is a professional organization development consultant with more than 14 years of experience in the field. Currently, Mr. Celender works with the Innovation Center in the facilitation of Patient and Family Center Care (PFCC) practices. Mr. Celender provided valuable insight into the PFCC methodology to symposium attendees.

 

  Tiffany Philips, BS
Press Ganey

Ms. Philips is Manager, Improvement Services for Press Ganey's Medical Services division. She is responsible for managing the development and implementation of quality improvement services across the home care improvement management team.

 

  Mary Kay Walsh, PT, MS
UPMC/Jefferson Regional Home Health, LP

Ms. Walsh has more than 15 years experience as a neurological clinical specialist in physical therapy. She has specialized in balance and neurological disorders in a variety of health care settings. Ms. Walsh discussed fall prevention and decreasing fall risk in community-dwelling older adults.

 

  Sandy Tokey, RN, MS
UPMC/Jefferson Regional Home Health, LP

Ms. Tokey is Vice President of Administrative Programs for UPMC/Jefferson Regional Home Health, LP. She has worked in the home health industry for more than thirty years in various capacities from staff nurse to administration. Among her most recent responsibilities is the development and implementation of a Facility Case Management Program to ensure continuity of care in Assisted and Independent Living facilities. Ms. Tokey discussed the goals and benefits of this program.
